Fatigue - a state of awareness describing a range of afflictions, usually associated with physical and/or mental weakness (definition thanks to Wikipedia which my kids' are not supposed to use for school reports - but this does not deter me from drawing upon it from time to time). Okay, I am tired. I actually went to bed last night at 7:30 pm and except for one errant daughter turning the bedroom lights fully on at 9 pm I was down for the count.
Okay, things to tackle on my super short list – figuring out how to get consistent jacard labels. The WRAPHABILLEMENT labels for my jackets and SMARTSHIELD labels for the pockets read completely different. It wasn't until my east coast technical designer, Lindy, pointed out that jacard labels can be produced two different ways and then actually encouraged me to look at the back of the labels that I saw the light. Simply put the direction of the weave has a huge impact on the way the word or image on the label read. Take a look at the pictures below:
You can easily see that the SMARTSHIELD labels have an overall crisper look to them. It also helps that, in this case, the label is being held down by the magical Starbucks coffee cup. Anyway, hundreds of WARPHABILLEMENT labels need to be sent back to Todd in New Jersey to be fixed or, more accurately, be completely redone. The only silver lining is that Todd may give us a break on our next order, which includes new labels for the revamped company logo.
So, another early night as it will be a long and wonderful day tomorrow starting with a 7:30 a.m. jog with girlfriends and include an interview with a nanny candidate, an Itzhak Perlman concert at Benaroya Hall, a neighborhood dinner out and Youth Group for my 12-year old and will conclude with a drive to Sea-Tac airport to pick Lindy up - in from Boston - as we'll be working from Vancouver, BC on Monday. Whew, no rest for the weary…
Oh, that last picture, those are the sleep experts, Sadie & Bean.
